Green Cleaning

I didn’t realised how versatile doTERRA essential oils.

I think I just thought they would smell nice and help boost my mood but then further research, from looking at the doTERRA blogs and resources (there are a lot of them) helped me understand that I could use them for my skin, health benefits and also toxin free cleaning

DoTERRA have an amazing range of OnGuard products and the ones I use for cleaning are the laundry detergent, concentrate cleaner (which, by the way, can be used for almost all cleaning) and the OnGuard essential oil as an additive to your own home made cleaning products.

When making my household cleaners I make sure that I utilise citrus oils, peppermint and Purify - all of which have great cleansing properties and smell gorgeous. Choose your fragrance, mix  the essential oils up to what you prefer the smell of and enjoy the smell

Just keep in mind that you will ideally need to purchase dark glass spray bottles, keep them in a dark place or at least out of direct sunlight, so the products last longer, and use distilled water to ensure it lasts longer too. If you don’t use distilled water, try to replace after a month

My kitchen spray consists of 2 tablespoons of OnGuard concentrate, 10 drops of Peppermint essential oil and another 10 of OnGuard then top with distilled water. My bathroom spray has a tablespoon of the cleaner concentrate and then 5 drops each of melaleuca and 5 of Clove essential oil but this is in a spray bottle half the size of my kitchen spray.

I also have made my own cleansing cream which I use for the shower and tiles - message me if you need this recipe

Fragrance hack for the bathroom - try a drop or two of Purify in the toilet roll before placing in your holder, for a fresh fragrance on the loo
